Building Global Confidence: NYK Shipping Line Reviews Operational Readiness at Patimban Port

PT. Bandar Krida Jala (BKJL) was once again entrusted to host an important visit from representatives of NYK Shipping Line, one of the world's leading shipping companies. The visit, which took place on Thursday, October 23rd, aimed to conduct a direct inspection of the facility and operational readiness at the Patimban International Car Terminal (PICT) in anticipation of receiving NYK's cargo and vessels.

The NYK Shipping Line delegation was warmly welcomed by the top management of PICT, namely Hiroyuki Yazawa (President Director of PICT), Takumi Nibe (Operations Director of PICT), and Matsui Toshihiro (Marketing Manager of PICT). Representing PT. BKJL, the visit was accompanied directly by the BKJL Warehouse Manager and the Head of Marketing, representing the stevedoring and terminal operating company (PBM) that holds a key role in the port.

The inspection agenda began with a direct review of the Receiving and Delivery (R&D) activities, which are fully handled by the professional manpower of PT. BKJL. The NYK delegation observed in detail the efficiency and standard operational procedures applied in handling vehicle units.

"We highly appreciate the visit and trust from NYK Shipping Line. This inspection is proof that the operational quality and facilities at Patimban are globally recognized. The strong synergy between PICT as the port manager and BKJL as the PBM operator is the key to delivering the best service," said a management representative of PT. BKJL.

After reviewing the R&D area, the delegation continued the inspection to the dock facilities, specifically Port Pos 5, to ensure the readiness and suitability of the infrastructure in supporting international-class Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessel loading and unloading activities.

This visit not only served as a benchmark for Patimban Port's readiness but also reinforced PT. BKJL's position as a reliable and professional logistics partner. The trust from a major shipping line like NYK Shipping Line is a vital asset for attracting more global players to utilize Patimban as a leading automotive export-import hub in Indonesia.
